"Sessions with the Muse" Closing Reception

October 04, 2025 04:00 PM until October 04, 2025 07:00 PM

After a year filled with random bits of inspiration, all just lying about the tea room (literally, there was a book called "Randomness" on the shelf) it has come time to bring the gathering of "Omphalos" and it's many threads to a close. Come check out the belly button installation that has been holding space in our window sill, part of the second season of Nicole Duprée's artist residence installation named "The Will of Inherited Materials" here at the randomest of tea rooms.

This body of work presents the parallel ideations of Genes & Jeans, sparking thought processes that travel back in time to the elements that make us who we are and how sharing our spark with a healthy community can make it even better. Nicole presents the pieces in this show as if they were specimens for study, replete with several journals strapped to the wall exhibiting one glorious section of the bursting with goodness bundles.

Join us for the closing reception on Saturday October 4th from 4-7pm to meet the artist and immerse yourself in these deeply thought provoking works.

Read more about how Nicole describes the exhibit:

"Sessions with the Muse" offers a peek into my creative process, showcasing the documentation of my experiments, the pages of my journals, and an array of samples, messy prototypes, doodles, sketches, and pieces that are complete—for now—alongside those that remain works in progress. This collection emphasizes process and materials, each drawing me back to nature and, ultimately, to my own wild nature. These sessions are practices, pathways I’ve explored to find inspiration: looking to the light within, channeling source energy, and becoming quiet enough to hear the golden wisdom of ancestors. Through these pathways, I seek the glow of inner muses to guide practices and illuminate pathways to purposeful, meaningful creation.

Over the last year as artist-in-residence at the Random Tea Room, I was able to share the creative practices that help me connect with myself, with nature, with others, and with sources of creative energy and inspiration—the muse within. I look forward to creating, solving small process puzzles, and playing together. Join me for journaling, weaving, mending, natural dyeing… and plenty of tea and plant magic! I can’t create this without you, so come, bring your muses, and let’s have tea together.
